The Hong Kong
Productivity Council (HKPC) established the Intellectual Property
Services Centre (IPSC) as a crucial link in fostering the development
of high value-added industries and to streamline product innovation
process in Hong Kong. The aim is to assist local companies and inventors
to capitalize on their intellectual works through patent, trademark
and industrial design registrations, thereby protecting their intellectual
rights. Services in these areas are provided by HKPC in co-operation
with professional parties in IP areas.
Functions
and Services of IPSC
- Implementation
agency of the HKSAR Government's "Patent Application Grant"
Scheme.
- Intellectual
property database -- search for the latest information on patents
and trademarks from major countries around the world.
- Application
for registration on various areas of intellectual property (including
innovative product patent, registered design and trademark) through
cooperation between HKPC and professional parties.
- Organizing
promotional events such as training courses and seminars on intellectual
property rights.
- Consultation
clinic -- offering consulting and problem-solving services on
intellectual property rights.
- Monthly
publication "Patents Update" to supply the latest information
on inventions and patents from all over the world.
